In the handicraft
& vocational training centre of Ashalayam,
children learn how to produce quality products;
card painting, candle making, bakery items, etc.
At the end of each month, children will receive
a "salary" depending on how much handicraft
they have produced. This income is then saved
in a bank account, to help acquire a plot of land,
buy a machine or build a house.
We call it a saving scheme, and the objective
is to develop a sense of personal responsibility
and instil saving habits. By buying our handicraft,
you will directly contribute to this saving scheme.
